Hi, I’m Chiswick Mum
-
I'm passionate about local life and making the most of living here, and of this great city that we live in.
London is such a great place to be a parent - and here in the leafy edge of the big smoke I feel really blessed to spend my days living, loving and parenting.
I live with my wonderful seven-year-old Chiswick Boy, and his dad Chiswick Daddy. Together we have adventures out and about, peppered with crafting and pyjamas days.
I don't get it right all the time. I work outside the home four days a week and the first thing to get ditched is generally the housework.

In life, as in cinema, it’s always worth staying to the end of the credits
My regular Monday post summarising what I've learnt about life and motherhood in the last week… because it's the small moments that count. And indeed it's the small moments that give us that aha moment of clarity! Last week I … Continue reading
Chiswick Mum’s farewell to August – Season of Mists
Today we bid a fond farewell to August, and a hello to September. Keats called Autumn ' Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness'. To me it's also… Season of Freshly Sharpened Pencils Of New Socks and Squeaky New Shoes … Continue reading

That was the weekend that was
A weekend of Simple Pleasures 1. Very important milestone – Chiswick Boy did his first Fighting Fantasy book with me. My brother and I were obsessed with these growing up. I also loved the 'choose your own adventure' books which … Continue reading

2014 here we are
I don't go out and celebrate New Year. To me, going out for New Year's Eve belongs to my past life – along with long Saturdays shopping with girlie friends, Sundays in bed reading and a whole bed to myself. … Continue reading

Yes we live on a boat!
Looking back I've always had a connection with the Thames. That might sound weird coming from a Northener who only moved (somewhat recklessly really!) to the Big Smoke after graduating from Dreaming Spires, in search of fame, fortune and streets … Continue reading
Moving nearer to the mountain
I want to move nearer to the mountain. Not literally. In fact on a literal level I'm moving AWAY from the mountain to sea level, as you'll know if you read my blog entry on our decision to move into … Continue reading

Life threatening
Last weekend I had a life threatening incident. It included a rather dramatic paramedic visit; ambulance visit to Charing Cross a&e; lots of tubes and masks and bleepy monitors; and two nights in the acute ward. Now it would be … Continue reading

2013 – your year of dreams!?!
Note added – 2015. Since I wrote this review a couple of years ago, I've changed my mind about the Leonie Dawson products. When I bought the next year's workbooks they were more or less the same as the previous … Continue reading
